'Write A Short Story In A Day'

with Helen Walters (Helen M Hunt)

DATE: Saturday 20 September 2014

VENUE: Malmaison Hotel, Manchester - a little bit of luxury while you're learning.

FEE: £95. Includes lunch and refreshments. Ask us about discounts.

GROUP: Small, so lots of individual feedback.

About the masterclass: If you've ever wanted to write short stories, Helen's masterclass is the perfect place to start. By the end of just one day, you could have much of your story worked out - all with an expert on hand to help you tease out any knots.

And you can stay in touch with Helen after the workshop ends. Helen is available for editing and advice as you work towards publication - just call us.

The masterclass is terrific for more experienced writers too, both as a skills' recap and as a source of inspiration.

Helen says:

"This workshop will be a very active one in which you will come up with an idea for a brand new short story and write as much of it as you can in one day. We will work on exercises to stimulate ideas and develop plots and there will be plenty of free writing time so you can get as many words down as possible.

"We’ll go from first inspiration to first draft, looking at how you make the most of your writing on the way. Throughout the day there’ll be a chance to discuss your work with the tutor and other students, and deal with any plot problems and other issues as they arise."

What Helen's students say:

Helen's course is "one of the best things I've done for my writing - packed full of tips, ideas and useful information." Alice Parrant

"The atmosphere is always kind and relaxed." Louise Johnson
